Army
Days
Basic training at Ft.
Leonard Wood, Missouri. That is
my late friend, Mike Eidahl, on the left with the pot helmet on, with me
beside him. Can’t remember hardly
any of the others – the black man in the middle is Ray Harris (front) who I
went to High School with.

GTO
Richmond, Virginia in 1971.
With my GTO at the apartment complex we lived in. As this car, one of the loves of my life,
got only 6-8 miles to the gallon around town, it would be a bad dream to
own it now.

Fishing
Fishing on the Chesapeake Bay in 1971. Army friend, Tom Mize, on the fantail.

Promotion time
Getting my rank in Oct
1970. That is my roommate, Dennis
Etheredge behind me. Can’t remember
who the cute secretary was. Man was
I skinny.

Drag Racing
I’ve always loved cars,
and was involved in drag racing for years.
Here is my 1967 Chevy II in the foreground, racing at NEITA Raceway
in Cedar Falls in the 1968 season.

Hoops with Mike Eidahl
I’ve always been a huge
sports fan, still am, although my knees and age have taken me out of
participating. Here I’m in a game in
the early 1970s at the YMCA in Waterloo, Iowa, along with my buddy Mike Eidahl.

Tackle Dummy J
I was your basic 130
Pound linebacker. I liked football
more than it liked me.

Logan Junior High Baseball
Baseball was my first
love, and I still follow it and Nancy and I take in several triple-A Des Moines Cub
(farmteam of the Chicago Cubs) each year.
I was a catcher on my Junior High Team. That is me front row, right.
